Our greens tarping and venting program has once again proved to be our best defence against the
stresses of winter!
For the last four years are greens have been in exceptional condition opening day and this is how we do it. Tarps are put down in fall to protect against ice build - up over the winter. Carbon Dioxide and Oxygen levels are checked and recorded twice per week along with air and greens surface temperatures. Air is blown into the ventilation systems under the tarp when oxygen levels drop below 10% or CO2 readings are greater than 4%. This ensures that our greens are getting the proper levels of Oxygen and the CO2 levels do not become toxic to the plant. By having this system in place we are able to ensure healthy greens throughout the winter and our guests can expect our greens to be in mid-season condition for opening day.
