Greywolf Golf Course Employment FAQs
1. Where is Panorama?
Panorama is located approximately 3.5 hours Southwest of Calgary and approx 1.5 hours SW of Banff in British Columbia. The closest town to Panorama is Invermere which is 20 km from Panorama or about 22 minutes from the mountain.
2. How do I get to Panorama?
If you do not have your own transportation, there is an Airport shuttle to Banff or several private shuttle companies which is a good option if traveling with other people.
**Do remember to coordinate your flight and bus schedules as best as you can to avoid a long stopover.
By Car from Calgary
Turn south off Trans Canada #1 onto Highway 93 to Radium Hot Springs. Travel south on Highway 93/95 to Invermere (14km) – Follow the signs to Panorama!
3. Why Greywolf/Panorama?
Greywolf Golf Course is currently ranked #18 in Canada, including private courses. Designed by Canadian architect Doug Carrick and opened in 1999, Greywolf quickly became a ‘must play’ course on all golfers bucket list. A true mountain golf course that provides both a test and the most enjoyable experience to all golfers.
Panorama Mountain Resort is a destination ski resort offering guests downhill skiing, snowboarding, cross country skiing, ski lodging, dining and much more. Over 4000 feet of true vertical and 2975 acres of terrain. Also enjoy the pools, hot tubs, water slides, saunas, spa treatments, pubs, bars and restaurants.
4. What do I need for staff housing & what is included?
You need to bring sheets for a single bed, pillows, blankets, and towel, if your suitcase is full then there are several discount stores in Invermere where you will be able to pick up these items at a reasonable price. You will also need clothes and any other essentials – we say essentials because space is limited, and you will be sharing with others. Your number of roommates depends on the type of unit you have been placed in. Your furniture, pots, pans, plates, cutlery, beds, lights, hydro, cable & Wi-Fi are all included in your unit – you are responsible for keeping them clean and up to standard. No telephones are included but there are several stores in town that provide cheap cell phone options for international staff.
5. What do I do when I first arrive?
When you first arrive you should give your manager a call to let him/her know that you’ve arrived. If you are in staff accommodation (and have confirmed this with Employee Experience, as per the housing questionnaire) you should stop in at the resort central check-in to get your keys. Once you have settled in we recommend taking some time to familiarize yourself with the layout of the resort and the location of Greywolf turf barn/clubhouse. Central check in can provide you with a village map.
6. Is there Internet access?
Staff housing has its own WIFI which is included in your rent.
7. Do I have to supply a uniform?
No – each department will supply you with your uniform. There may be some additional items you need to provide so please check with your manager.
8. How far is Staff Accommodation from different facilities?
Staff Accommodation is a 20-minute walk tom the Turfcare Facility and 30 minute walk from Greywolf’s Clubhouse. Other Estimated distances from Staff Accommodation are as follows:

9. Where do we eat/get food?
There is no meal plan for staff – housing units are equipped with full kitchens and plenty of fridge/freezer space.There is a general store on the hill that provides the basics (beer, bread, and other general food items). Sobeys, No Frills and AG Food stores, in Invermere, should be adequate for the rest or your shopping needs. You do get discounts at the bars and restaurants at Panorama for those nights you don’t feel like cooking.
10. Do I get any deals because I’m a Greywolf Employee?
Greywolf has high expectations of its staff and, in return, offers many rewards. Our wages are competitive within the resort business and the general area. In addition, summer staff receive complimentary golf at Greywolf (during off-peak hours) and free mountain biking privileges at Panorama. All full-time employees are entitled to a discount on food in our outlets – discounts are dependent on the outlets. As well, staff have access to the swimming pool, hot tubs, saunas, and the fitness room.
11. Do I get to attend orientation?
You do get to attend a Greywolf orientation! It is a great day to learn about the resort, our service philosophies (to assist our guest, owners, and each other,) meet some people from other departments and have some great fun.
There is no set date for this, but it usually is planned for the first week of May just before we open. Your specific department may also do its own orientation covering topics related to your job.
12. Are there staff events?
Yes there are! Each department plans different staff events throughout the summer as well as several Greywolf wide staff golf tournaments including an end of season tournament after we close.
13. What banks are in Invermere?
We have a CIBC, Bank of Montreal, and a Credit Union – you can get your pay directly deposited into almost any Canadian bank or Credit Union, but if you want to do over the counter banking then you’re stuck with these three options.
The banks in town are well versed in setting up accounts for international staff but please call ahead to see if an appointment is required.
14. What else is at Panorama and in Invermere?
The town of Invermere has most services available. There is a post office, grocery stores, and several convenience stores, clothing stores, hardware, Canadian tire, and fast-food outlets etc. Panorama has its own general store and liquor store. Laundry facilities are available on site in the underground parking lot of Horsethief Lodge, on each floor of the Toby Creek Lodge, and in staff accommodation buildings. A dry cleaners and Laundromat are available in Invermere.
There are numerous lakes, Lillian and Windermere, to name a couple, all around the town and resort so bring your fishing gear! The numerous mountain bike trails on the resort and around the valley will keep you riding until the sun sets! Hiking is fantastic so don’t forget your hiking boots and camera.
15. How do I stay around for the next season?
If you want to stay on for the coming season (winter) be sure your performance is fantastic and keep eyes open for positions you would be interested in taking on.
Panorama begins internal applications for the winter season by the end of August. All available jobs will be posted on their employment website around the same time.
